Found Poem #2: Stranded on Hanover Shoal

Words written on a faded handkerchief and pinned, along with the SOS bottle it was said to have been found in, to the wall in the Fish Creek Town Dock. These artifacts have since been been removed from the wall (the place was cleaned up) so we are glad to have taken the time to document this part of our cultural heritage.

Please Help Us!!!

We are stranded just off Chamber’s Island on
Hanover Shoal. We have a small tri-hull sailboat.

Our radio does not work. We are stuck on the rocks
and are very hungry. A Larsen sailboat LRS flying

a black pirate flag has gone by a number of times
but hasn’t noticed us. It must be a nudist cruise.

No one has clothes on! There’s too much action
going on for them to notice us. We are two divorce’

from Chicago. We will pay a large reward to anyone
who will get us off these rocks.

Thank you
